The role involves automating the testing of exchange connectivity and market data systems.
Main Responsibilities:
- Design and develop custom automation tools and testing processes for exchange connectivity and market data systems running on the Linux platform.
- Lead the building/enhancing of an integration test environment and troubleshoot/resolving system problems when needed.
- Gain in-depth knowledge of applications to identify and resolve obscure problems.
- Collaborate with developers, traders, and support staff, responding to questions about production systems.
- Engage in performance monitoring of the production environment to improve system performance.
- Assist with numerous automation tasks including testing, deployment, and process improvement.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field with experience working in a software development organization as a Test Engineer.
- Minimum 2 years' experience designing and building automated test frameworks.
- Demonstrated proficiency in an object-oriented language (C++ or Python) and a high level of proficiency with the Linux OS.
- Experience working with large data sets and understanding of network programming are highly regarded.
- Understanding of distributed systems and trading technology is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, communicate clearly, and solve business and technical problems.
