The Koorie Engagement Support Officer plays a pivotal role in enhancing educational outcomes for Indigenous children and young people.
Key Responsibilities- Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders to improve engagement, wellbeing, and achievement for Indigenous children and young people.
- Cultural Inclusion: Facilitate improved access to universal and targeted educational services for Indigenous families and communities.
- Advice Provision: Provide advice to education providers on establishing culturally inclusive learning environments.
- Outcome Improvement: Work systemically with departments and agencies to improve outcomes for Indigenous children and young people.
- Specialist Expertise: Koorie Engagement & Culture
- Referral Agencies: Identify relevant referral agencies and support services to support the educational success of Indigenous children and young people.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with key stakeholders in government and community for a common educational purpose.
- Educational Values: Work with community and key stakeholders to share educational values and responsibility for achievement, engagement, education-related wellbeing programs, and activities for Indigenous children, young people, and their families engaged in education.
- Project Management:
- Project Planning: Develop project plans that clearly describe program/service objectives, actions required, and progress made.
- Team Coordination: Organize and coordinate regular meetings to support other members of the regional Indigenous Education Workforce team.
- Issue Resolution: Anticipate potential issues and facilitate solutions to ensure program objectives are met.
- Relationship Building:
- Relationship Establishment: Establish and maintain effective relationships with people at all Departmental levels, stakeholder groups, organizations, and communities.
- Trust Building: Build trust through consistent action, communication, and implementation.
