Job Opportunity: High-Voltage Substation Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled and experienced high-voltage substation maintenance technician to join our team in South Australia's south-east region.

The successful candidate will be based at our Mt Gambier depot and work closely with a three-person crew, performing routine servicing, emergency repairs, and upgrade works for ElectraNet and SA Power Networks substations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspecting, testing, and maintaining high-voltage substation equipment
  • Finding faults and making emergency repairs to ensure critical assets remain online
  • Assisting with installation and upgrade projects across transmission and distribution networks
  • Completing switching operations and isolations with the necessary authorisations
  • Maintaining accurate service records and contributing to a strong safety culture

Working Hours: Standard hours from Monday to Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm, over a 9-day fortnight. Overtime may be required, and flexibility to participate in an on-call roster is essential.

Contract Details: This is a 24-month contract position.

About You

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A recognised Electrical Trade Qualification
  • A current SA Electrical Workers Licence or eligibility to obtain it
  • Experience as a HV Electrician in substation maintenance, construction, mining, or other heavy industrial environments
  • A valid South Australian Driver's Licence
  • (Bonus) Experience with HV switching or willingness to gain authorisation
