Job Title: Manager

At The State Of Queensland, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager to lead our Human Resources team at Wacol Youth Remand Centre.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team to provide strategic and operational human resource functions to Wacol Youth Remand Centre.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Services to coordinate activities and provide advice on recruitment and selection processes, induction programs, and workforce planning.
  • Design, develop, implement, and evaluate training and development programs, including mentoring and coaching systems and competency-based training for staff.
  • Manage rostering and payroll functions and contribute to the establishment, management, monitoring, and processes.
  • Provide advice and support to executives, managers, supervisors, and staff on human resource provisions and employee entitlements.
  • Oversee employee health and wellbeing functions, including workplace rehabilitation and return to work processes.
  • Oversee safety functions, including audits, inspections, and reporting requirements in accordance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.
  • Provide advice, coaching, and support to delegates on performance, conduct, attendance, and change management matters.
  • Contribute to the case management of disciplines, suspensions, grievances, appeals, disputes, and unfair dismissals.
Requirements:
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of human resource principles and practices.
  • Experience in managing a team and providing guidance and supervision.
