Procurement Officer Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and delivering efficient procurement activities across the University.

In this hands-on role, you will work closely with the Financial Services and Corporate Services teams to streamline procurement operations, enhance systems and processes, and ensure compliance with policy and financial best practice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, maintain and review procurement systems and practices to ensure they are delivered within best practice environments;
  • Administer the University's operational procurement functions to ensure the integrity and efficient provision of the framework within all relevant legislation, policies and guidelines;
  • Provide guidance across the university community on procurement related matters including the provision of related training.
You Will Possess:
  • An associate diploma or relevant degree with relevant work experience;
  • Experience providing accurate advice about procurement and financial operation functions and procedures in a medium-sized organisation;
  • The ability to interpret and apply State Purchasing Policy or equivalent;
  • Experience in the development, implementation and review of procurement and financial operation systems, policies and procedures;
  • High level experience using accounting software and evidence of advanced Microsoft Excel skills;
  • Relevant experience in the higher education sector and knowledge of local government legislative, tendering and procurement practices;
  • Membership of industry body relevant to the position (eg CIPS, CPA);
  • Previous experience with Technology One CiA and the development and maintenance of webpages.
About This Opportunity:

This is a contract role with a fixed-term until December 2026. You will be based in Sunshine Coast, Queensland, and will work at UniSC campuses.
