Role Overview:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated procurement professional to lead the delivery of specialist procurement services that support teaching and research across all campuses.
As a senior procurement leader, you will be responsible for leading a small team responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient procurement of regulated and high-risk goods including chemicals, medicines, laboratory consumables, and specialist equipment.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders and the strategic procurement unit to improve procurement processes, supplier engagement, and value for money outcomes.
The role requires strong leadership skills with a focus on client service, workforce planning, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support a team of procurement professionals delivering safe, compliant, and high-quality procurement for regulated and specialty goods;
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and the strategic procurement unit to improve procurement processes, supplier engagement, and value for money outcomes; and
- Provide expert advice and oversight on procurement practices, compliance, and operational planning across teaching, research, and technical environments

Key Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification in finance, business administration, or a related field;
- At least four years of experience in a similar role;
- Demonstrated ability to lead safe, compliant, and efficient procurement practices for high-risk or regulated goods;
- Experience supporting teams and stakeholders through operational change within a large or complex organisation;
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on client service, workforce planning, and continuous improvement;
- Proven ability to manage procurement frameworks that meet compliance, value-for-money, and efficiency objectives;
- Sound experience in end-to-end procurement within complex organisations, preferably in the tertiary or public sector;
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, ethical sourcing, and risk management in relation to regulated procurement;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate, influence, and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
