Senior Procurement Manager Role

This is a leadership position for a seasoned procurement professional who will oversee the procurement of specialized goods and services across multiple locations. The ideal candidate will have expertise in managing complex procurement environments, leading teams, and developing efficient processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of procurement professionals to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality procurement practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and the strategic procurement unit to improve procurement processes, supplier engagement, and value for money outcomes.
  • Provide expert advice and oversight on procurement practices, compliance, and operational planning across teaching, research, and technical environments.
Requirements:
  • A tertiary qualification in finance, business administration, or a related field, with at least four years of experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead safe, compliant, and efficient procurement practices for high-risk or regulated goods.
  • Experience supporting teams and stakeholders through operational change within a large or complex organization.
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on client service, workforce planning, and continuous improvement.
  • Proven ability to manage procurement frameworks that meet compliance, value-for-money, and efficiency objectives.
  • Sound experience in end-to-end procurement within complex organizations, preferably in the tertiary or public sector.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, ethical sourcing, and risk management in relation to regulated procurement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate, influence, and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
