The role of a Procurement Strategist involves managing procurement and supply chain strategies for defence programs in a dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities include establishing, implementing and managing procurement plans that deliver value for money and mitigate risk. This includes negotiating and managing strategic contracts, building relationships with internal and external stakeholders to meet program requirements, and developing supplier arrangements that benefit the submarine program and industry.

About You:
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in a relevant Supply Chain role in a defence industry is required.
  • Expertise in major defence contracts and contract management systems is essential.
  • Strong project management skills are necessary to manage procurement projects within agreed timelines and budget constraints.
  • Knowledge of applicable law relating to procurement frameworks is also required.

Tertiary qualifications in commerce, law, supply chain or related fields are highly desirable.

As a seasoned procurement professional, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to direct and manage senior personnel effectively.
