Payroll Specialist

Thiess is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in supporting both our day-to-day payroll operations and our ongoing Payroll Transformation Projects.
Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring our Human Capital Management (HCM) and payroll systems and end-to-end processes evolve to meet the changing needs of our business. As a key member of our team, you will drive continuous improvements across payroll systems, business processes, and compliance measures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll System Configuration and Maintenance
- Collaboration with Industrial Relations, IT, and Payroll Service Provider
- Time and Attendance/Payroll Rules Management
- Pay Query Analysis and Process Improvement
- Documentation and Reporting
About You
As an ideal candidate for this Payroll Specialist role, you bring a wealth of experience in handling highly complex payroll issues. Your expertise in defining payroll system configuration requirements ensures accurate interpretation and application of Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
You excel at configuring payroll systems to meet diverse business requirements and have a demonstrated understanding of payroll and time and attendance systems functionality.
Your experience in interpreting legislation, Awards, and EAs, coupled with a strong working knowledge of the Fair Work Act and other relevant regulations, allows you to ensure appropriate systems configuration and process design.
You have a track record in identifying and implementing improvements to payroll processes, showcasing your commitment to efficiency and accuracy.
Additionally, you have:
- Business and/or HR Degree, or equivalent qualifications/experience
- 2 to 5 years' experience in end-to-end payroll management in medium/large organisations
- Exposure to Oracle HRIS and/or Preceda payroll is desirable
- Proficient in MS Office, including MS Excel to Intermediate standard (minimum)
