Key Responsibilities- Build, maintain, and prioritize the backlog of Change Requests to ensure payroll systems are updated efficiently and in compliance with regulations.
- Partner with Industrial Relations, IT, and the Payroll Service Provider to accurately interpret and implement payroll system configurations related to Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
- Maintain time and attendance/payroll rules, core data, and conduct regular audits to ensure ongoing compliance and accuracy within payroll systems.
- Analyze complex pay queries, identify discrepancies, and drive process improvement initiatives to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintain essential documentation and support payroll leaders with reports, reconciliations, and audits while staying updated on changes in payroll legislation.
As an ideal candidate for this Payroll Specialist role, you bring a wealth of experience in handling highly complex payroll issues. Your expertise in defining payroll system configuration requirements ensures accurate interpretation and application of Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
You have a demonstrated understanding of payroll and time and attendance systems functionality, and excel at configuring these systems to meet diverse business requirements.
Your experience in interpreting legislation, Awards, and EAs, coupled with a strong working knowledge of the Fair Work Act and other relevant regulations, allows you to ensure appropriate systems configuration and process design.
You have a track record in identifying and implementing improvements to payroll processes, showcasing your commitment to efficiency and accuracy.
Complementing your technical skills are highly developed analytical and problem-solving abilities, as well as exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, making you an invaluable asset to any payroll team.
Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Business or Human Resources, or equivalent qualifications/experience.
- 2 to 5 years' experience in end-to-end payroll management in medium/large organizations.
- Exposure to Oracle HRIS and/or Preceda payroll is desirable.
- Proficient in MS Office, including MS Excel to Intermediate standard (minimum).
