Solicitor - Legal Support to Empower First Nations Communities

As a Solicitor in Care & Protection/Family Law at the Australian Legal Service, you will deliver expert legal support to empower First Nations communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality legal advice and representation in Care & Protection/Family Law matters.
  • Deliver legal services including advice, casework, court representation, and early intervention.
  • Support Aboriginal clients through referrals, dispute resolution, and Duty Solicitor services.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and maintain accurate records.
  • Contribute to law reform and community legal education.
Requirements:
  • Achieve legal qualifications with an NSW Practising Certificate (or eligibility).
  • Develop advocacy experience representing clients in court or tribunals.
  • Gain knowledge of Care & Protection and Family Law.
  • Understand the legal issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
  • Exercise strong time management and analytical skills.
