Supporting First Nations Children

This role focuses on empowering the independence and community inclusion of First Nations children aged 0-9 with disabilities or developmental delays. You will work closely with families to establish meaningful goals and aspirations for their child and track progression towards these objectives.

As a supportive professional, you will undertake observations of children in their natural environment to assess their functioning and support needs. You will also provide community connections and linkages to mainstream services in the local area to improve children's access to the right supports and meaningful social participation.

The successful candidate will be an experienced professional with a passion for supporting First Nations children and families. They will have strong relationships with local First Nations communities and be confident in building community networks and service pathways.

Essential Requirements:

  • Aboriginality confirmed by a common seal and a reference from an Aboriginal organisation or community group.
  • Tertiary qualification in Early Childhood or Allied Health is desirable.
  • Understanding of child protection principles and Keep Them Safe.
  • Valid Driver's Licence (P1 minimum) and willingness to travel across Northern NSW.
  • WWCC & NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Full Australian working rights.
