About the Role

We seek an experienced leader to advance and build upon our organisation's strong foundation. This role offers a powerful opportunity to join a passionate team committed to healing, reconnection, and truth-telling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the execution of our strategic direction and objectives.
  • Oversee management and operations.
  • Cultivate relationships with community groups, governments, funding bodies, and stakeholders.
  • Represent us as the public voice across media, events, forums, and platforms.
  • Ensure financial sustainability, growth, and governance.
  • Uphold legal, regulatory, and cultural compliance.
  • Support the Board of Directors, ensuring clear communication.
  • Foster a culturally safe, inclusive, workplace.
  • Advocate for Stolen Generations Survivors and their families.
Requirements

We need someone with:

  • Strong leadership experience, ideally in community, not-for-profit, or First Nations-led organisations.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g., Social Work, Business Administration, Community Services, or related).
  • Deep understanding of and experience with First Nations, Stolen Generations history and intergenerational trauma.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder engagement, advocacy, strategic planning, governance, and financial oversight skills.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed care principles.
  • Background in organisational development or capacity building.
