This includes managing stock and blending processes, overseeing third-party agreements, controlling operational and capital expenditures, and ensuring the quality and availability of products while maintaining relationships with key external stakeholders.
Provide strategic leadership to the team and business unit, fostering motivation, training, and development opportunities for direct reports. Ensure the Terminal operates in alignment with the highest Impala Standards of Safety, Quality, and Customer Satisfaction.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities: Responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to:

1. Terminal Operations

Manage the facility's operations to guarantee safe and reliable service, which includes:

  • Ensuring product availability to meet customer and third-party needs.
  • Acting as the primary contact for the business unit regarding all terminal operations.
  • Managing relationships with joint ventures and third-party agreements.
  • Efficiently handling storage agreements between Impala and its clients.
  • Ensuring product quality meets Australian Fuel Standards.
  • Overseeing safe and efficient blending operations to meet expectations.
  • Maintaining strong communication with Customers and Internal stakeholders regarding potential supply issues.
  • Managing the safe discharge of products from vessels to minimize delays.
  • Implementing preventative maintenance programs for the terminal.
  • Quickly troubleshooting equipment issues to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Developing and implementing effective processes and training to ensure operational continuity.
  • Managing operational expenditures and reporting on performance metrics.
  • Establishing and maintaining compliance with Impala Standards, including IMAS requirements.

2. Work Health & Safety

Ensure adherence to all statutory health, safety, environmental, and security requirements, including:

  • Achieving and maintaining compliance with Impala's safety system (IMAS).
  • Ensuring all terminal tasks comply with IMAS and employee responsibilities.
  • Conducting workplace inspections to identify hazards.
  • Reporting hazards and injuries to supervisors promptly.
  • Fulfilling International and Australian Safety Policies.
  • Proactively managing health, safety, and environmental issues.
  • Providing emergency response capabilities, including drills with emergency services.
  • Ensuring adequate training for all Operations personnel.
  • Managing the Permit to Work system.
  • Ensuring compliance with procedures, risk assessments, and operational licenses.

3. Product Supply

Oversee product supply capabilities by actively managing:

  • Daily and forecasted supply situations.
  • Continuity of supply and equitable allocation during shortages.
  • Communication with stakeholders regarding supply issues.
  • Management of raw materials and inventory control.

4. Capital Expenditure (Capex)

Effectively manage capital projects for the Kwinana Fuel Terminal, including:

  • Supporting Regional Operations Management through project phases.
  • Ensuring compliance with Impala and Australian/ISO Standards.

5. Maintenance

Oversee maintenance for the Kwinana Fuel Terminal, including:

  • Establishing an effective maintenance management process.
  • Ensuring accurate use of Impala's CMMS.
  • Supervising major terminal upgrades and compliance with safety systems.

6. Financial Management

Coordinate budget preparation and monitor operations to ensure:

  • Costs remain within budget.
  • Identification and implementation of cost-saving initiatives.

7. Leadership and Team Development

Lead and develop staff to enhance capability and foster teamwork:

  • Providing leadership to direct reports.
  • Managing performance effectively.
  • Contributing to a positive workplace culture.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Experience:

  • 10-15 years in the petroleum sector, managing major Liquid Petroleum Terminals.
  • Experience in vessel import/export operations.
  • Proven track record in managing commercial relationships.

Skills:

  • Strong business acumen and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent managerial and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Competencies:

  • Ability to achieve high standards and work with diverse teams.
  • Strong integrity and ethical leadership.

Key Relationships:
