The Senior Ward Officer will play a vital role in supporting the ward office in achieving great outcomes through strong office management and administration.

This includes setting high standards for customer service and being aware of the various opportunities and challenges facing our residents.

We are committed to keeping our community safe and connected through interactions with community groups, sports clubs, and local residents.

As part of a small team, you will lead the ward officer in delivering effective administration and customer service, managing the ward office workload, and achieving key performance markers set by the councillor.

Your professional attitude and leadership experience will enable you to succeed in a busy office environment with complex customer queries, competing demands, and the need to re-prioritise when unexpected situations arise.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • demonstrated front-facing customer service experience with a strong focus on resolving complex customer queries, ensuring honesty, fairness, sensitivity, and dignity in all interactions
  • ability to maintain oversight across work in progress, including the ability to quickly review, understand, and brief stakeholders on complex projects
  • demonstrated experience in leading an office-based operation providing high-quality administrative and secretarial support, including overall management of in-progress requests in the Customer Database system
  • demonstrated experience in researching and interpreting legislation, policy, and guidelines to support the councillor in resolving community queries
  • demonstrated organisation skills, including diary management, organising documents, and preparing resources for meetings
  • demonstrated experience in writing reports, correspondence, and information decks while handling sensitive information in line with Council policy
  • well-developed interpersonal and communication skills to liaise effectively with a wide range of customers and Council officers through various channels
  • ability to assist with digital content design and editing and assisting with the management of social media accounts

The estimated salary for this role is around $70,000-$90,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
