We are a leading provider of port solutions and logistics services, managing 25 sites for the forestry industry in Australia and New Zealand. Our company is also a major player in the energy sector, supporting thousands of onshore wells and rig supply vessels annually.
Job Description
The successful applicant will be responsible for planning, organizing, and managing Stevedoring operations, achieving safe and effective results. This hands-on leadership role requires a commitment to quality and continuous improvement, with a focus on safety and customer performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Vessel Planning and Labour Allocation: Plan and organize vessel operations to achieve safe and effective results.
- Leadership and Motivation: Lead, motivate, and direct employees to perform their functions in accordance with safety and operational standards.
- Statutory Obligations and Company Policies: Ensure that all statutory obligations and company policies in respect to Human Resources, WHS&E are adhered to at all times.
- Employee Performance Management: Manage individual employee performance, including discipline, grievances, and training in conjunction with the Operations Manager.
- Security and Client Liaison: Ensure adequate security is maintained on site at all times and liaise with clients in relation to the progress of their operations.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Vessel Operations Knowledge: Sound technical knowledge and experience in vessel operations and planning.
- Leadership and Management: Previous experience leading and managing people.
- WHS&E Requirements: Knowledge of WHS&E requirements and obligations.
- Awards and Workplace Agreements: Ability to understand awards and workplace agreements.
- PC Literacy: PC literacy is required.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of people.
- Shift Work: The ability to work shift work at short notice and the hours necessary to fulfill the requirements of the position.
Salary
$120,000 - $150,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
