Job Description

The successful applicant will be responsible for planning, organizing, and managing Stevedoring operations, achieving safe and effective results. This hands-on leadership role requires a commitment to quality and continuous improvement, with a focus on safety and customer performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Vessel Planning and Labour Allocation: Plan and organize vessel operations to achieve safe and effective results.
  • Leadership and Motivation: Lead, motivate, and direct employees to perform their functions in accordance with safety and operational standards.
  • Statutory Obligations and Company Policies: Ensure that all statutory obligations and company policies in respect to Human Resources, WHS&E are adhered to at all times.
  • Employee Performance Management: Manage individual employee performance, including discipline, grievances, and training in conjunction with the Operations Manager.
  • Security and Client Liaison: Ensure adequate security is maintained on site at all times and liaise with clients in relation to the progress of their operations.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Vessel Operations Knowledge: Sound technical knowledge and experience in vessel operations and planning.
  • Leadership and Management: Previous experience leading and managing people.
  • WHS&E Requirements: Knowledge of WHS&E requirements and obligations.
  • Awards and Workplace Agreements: Ability to understand awards and workplace agreements.
  • PC Literacy: PC literacy is required.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of people.
  • Shift Work: The ability to work shift work at short notice and the hours necessary to fulfill the requirements of the position.

Salary

$120,000 - $150,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
