Job Opportunity

The ideal candidate will have experience applying coatings and paint applications, sand-blasting, and performing other tasks relative to industrial coatings.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and coat products with the correct coating and type of paint.
  • Maintain equipment in good condition, returning it to its rightful place when not in use, and report any defects to your supervisor immediately.
  • Ensure paint stock inventory is maintained in line with business and statutory requirements.
  • Clean, sand, sandblast, scrape, brush, etch, and burn surfaces in preparation for spraying.
  • Mask windows, doors, and other nearby surfaces and equipment needing protection from spray and remove on completion of job.
  • Disassemble and reassemble components as required to carry out painting and blasting functions.
  • Mix materials for proper application.
  • Erect ladders, staging, and other items to gain access to different areas; move furniture and equipment as necessary.
  • Repair surfaces to be sprayed or painted, including plastering and sheetrock finishing.
  • Adjust equipment to maintain proper spray application and clean equipment.
  • Perform test procedures to confirm compliance of work with relevant procedures and standards.
  • Assist in developing and implementing service standards and procedures to ensure responsiveness to customer needs.
  • Ensure quality of work undertaken is of the highest standard and within tolerances set by the site.
  • Be proactive in assisting the supervisor to create a professional team environment.
  • Work within specified timeframes.
  • Able to inspect products and/or materials for conformity with established operational standards.
  • Perform work under limited supervision either individually or in a team environment.
  • Ensure completed tasks meet statutory responsibilities relating to Environmental, Quality, and Zero Harm requirements, exercising safe work practices with regard for self, others, and property.
  • Be vigilant in maintaining a clean and tidy workplace in line with housekeeping goals.Required Skills and Qualifications
    • Minimum of 3 years Industrial Painting/Blasting experience.
    • IPAF/Slinger/Signaller/Confined Spaces/Forklift certifications.
    • Ability to work independently and source information to keep up with new technologies.
