Student Support Officer Job Description

As a Student Support Officer, you will be part of a school community that enhances student wellbeing and learning outcomes in partnership with the wellbeing team.

The role involves providing individual and targeted wellbeing support to students. You will have a pivotal role in developing and implementing whole of school wellbeing initiatives and programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and targeted wellbeing support to students.
  • Develop and implement whole of school wellbeing initiatives and programs.
  • Work collaboratively with external agencies to create referral pathways for students and families.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to student wellbeing.

Essential Requirements:

  • A completed diploma or higher qualification in social work, youth work, welfare or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies.
  • Valid and current Working With Children Check (WWCC).
