Delirium Prevention Specialist

About the Role

This position is responsible for implementing an evidence-based program on selected wards, aiming to prevent delirium and promote high-quality acute care for older hospital inpatients.

The Eat Walk Engage program uses a framework to embed sustainable change in practice. The purpose of this role is to lead the implementation by facilitating initiatives that provide high-level expertise in clinical service delivery, project management, education, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • High level of clinical knowledge, experience, and skills in preventing delirium and delivering older-friendly healthcare principles and practices.
  • Knowledge, skills, and expertise in quality improvement methodology applicable to the Eat Walk Engage program.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective professional relationships with consumers, colleagues, and stakeholders to inform and influence clinical outcomes and behavior change.
  • Disseminating professional development learning to clinical professionals.
  • Monitoring and reporting on clinical work practices and outcomes, as well as initiating, planning, and evaluating local service improvement initiatives.
