About the Role

This is a leadership position that requires effective management of whole-school literacy and numeracy intervention programs to improve outcomes for young people. The successful candidate will develop and implement strategies to enhance teacher collaboration, coaching, and professional development in these areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and lead a whole-school approach to improve literacy and numeracy outcomes of young people
  • Facilitate appropriate staff development and training in literacy and numeracy strategies
  • Track student data to inform progress and review
  • Collate reports as required for senior management
  • Use data to help inform teaching teams to set goals and implement targeted adjustments for Individual Learning Plans (ILPs)
  • Assist senior team to collate National Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) and evidence to improve student outcomes
Classroom Teacher Duties:
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging learning and teaching programs for middle and secondary phase students
  • Design flexible, innovative curriculum to engage students, including project-based learning and activities
  • Implement class and individual student learning programs that meet legislative requirements for students with learning difficulties and disabilities
  • Build learning programs reflecting diversity within the classroom and cater to individuals with specific needs
  • Ensure ILPs are developed and contribute to ongoing evaluation of the ILP process
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working with disengaged young people from mainstream education
  • Skills and knowledge in teaching processes, framework, and practice
  • Current Working with Children Check before commencement
  • Teachers Registration
  • Ability to drive a bus and willingness to obtain current First Aid certification
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills for a complex organisational structure
