About the Role

The Career Opportunities Specialist will work closely with customers to identify their strengths and barriers to employment, and develop strategies to overcome these challenges. They will also provide job readiness training sessions, assist with resume development and interview preparation, and connect customers with potential employers.

A typical day as a Career Opportunities Specialist may include:

  • Conducting initial customer assessments to determine employment goals and objectives
  • Developing and implementing individualised employment plans to support customers in achieving their goals
  • Providing ongoing support and guidance to customers throughout their employment journey
  • Collaborating with other professionals, such as case managers and employment specialists, to ensure comprehensive support for customers
  • Staying up-to-date with local labour market trends and employment opportunities

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Basic computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • A driver's licence (essential)
  • A Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain)
  • A Criminal Record Check (or willing to obtain)
