About this Role

We're seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to support our projects in achieving a safe, healthy and environmentally responsible work environment.

As a key team member, you will report to the Project Manager and be responsible for implementing the HSE management system and programs.

Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and reviewing project HSE Management Plans, including Emergency Response Plan;
  • Delivering corporate and client HSE programmes;
  • Creating project-specific toolbox topics to address local HSE issues and facilitating toolbox meetings;
  • Counselling and influencing site workers and management on project hazard and risk management tools (e.g. JHA/SWMS, Take 5, hazard report and permits) and reinforcing safe behaviours and addressing at-risk behaviours in the field;
  • Conducting and supporting incident investigations and identifying causal factors;
  • Championing HSE inspections with site personnel (including subcontractors) and coaching participants in identifying hazards and controls;
  • Monitoring and reviewing HSE registers;
  • Supporting injury management on site, including monitoring injured persons' and project's adherence to return-to-work plans onsite;
  • Completing HSE Reports;
  • Building effective working relationships with all stakeholders, including client representatives;

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience as a HSE Advisor on high-risk civil projects;
  • Tunnel construction and/or FRP project experience - a definite advantage;
  • Experience with FIFO or DIDO projects working for a contractor;
  • Formal OSH qualifications such as Cert IV or Diploma preferred;
  • Cert 4 in Training and Assessment;
  • A self-starter with ability to communicate with all stakeholder levels;
