Advanced Community Mental Health Nurse Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our community mental health team in Kununurra. As a key member of the Kimberley Mental Health and Drug Service Team, you will provide advanced community mental health services to clients based on best practice.
About the Role:
- Provides culturally secure care that considers the emotional, social and spiritual well-being of clients.
- Conducts mental health and/or drug and alcohol triage, acute initial assessments, risk assessments, crisis intervention, care management planning and implementation of care plans and referral services to clients and their carers.
Key Requirements:
- Eligible for registration in the category of Registered Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Demonstrated ability to apply recovery approaches when working with individuals, families and communities affected by mental health conditions.
- Advanced community mental health nursing skills with complex mental health conditions.
- Extensive and recent experience in community-based mental health nursing practice.
- Ability to work alone and within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of medications used and experience in dispensing and administering medications used in mental health treatment.
- Current knowledge of legislative obligations in relation to the WA Mental Health Act 2014.
- Working knowledge of computer use and information systems relevant to the position.
- Current C Class driver's licence and ability to travel including overnight stays away from home.
