About This Role

We are seeking a Legal Advisor to join our Retail Bank team.

This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to deliver legal advice and support the growth of our business.

You will work closely with our senior legal team to provide commercial, quality, and timely legal advice on a range of matters related to retail banking products and services.

Your experience in advising on retail banking matters and your practical working knowledge of key legislation and regulations will be invaluable in this role.

In addition to your technical skills, you will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to the Retail Bank team.
  • Support the development of business strategies and initiatives.
  • Maintain a high level of awareness of relevant laws and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years PQE as a legal practitioner in Australia.
  • Experience in an in-house role and/or private practice, preferably within the banking and finance industry.
  • A strong understanding of key legislation and regulations, including the National Consumer Credit Protection Act and the Corporations Act.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
