Facilities Operations Manager

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a well-recognised asset in the heart of Chatswood. The role involves maintaining a focus on all related engineering and facilities management tasks, from contractor management, procedures and risk management, statutory compliance management, sustainability as well as driving capital projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage compliance with all relevant statutory authorities
  2. Drive sustainability performance of the assets to ensure NABERS energy and water targets are achieved
  3. Ensure everything in the buildings are compliant with current legislation (lifts, escalators, pressure vessels, cooling towers)
  4. Coordinating efficient management of all property services and other works required to be carried out within the asset
  5. Undertake periodic inspections of the buildings and plant to determine the extent, and priority of any repair works required
  6. Manage all specialist contractors to ensure they comply with their contract terms and conditions and nominated scope of works
  7. Manage engineering and building maintenance contracts for all critical and non-critical services in the building. Periodically review the service agreement and initiate tender in coordination with procurement team for contract renewal and new service agreements
  8. Supervise tenancy fit out works and make good for the tenancies
  9. Project Manage upgrade works within the building
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have proven facilities management experience in a commercial, industrial or retail environment and a passion and understanding of sustainability is required. They should also have a good knowledge of property systems including familiarity with building services software procedures and knowledge of occupational health & safety legislation and requirements.
