About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Specialist to join our local manufacturing team at Philmac, a leading global innovator in the connection and control of water and energy. As part of our team, you will design and implement cutting-edge technology solutions that enhance manufacturing processes and ensure workforce safety.

Reporting to the Senior Automation Engineer, you will oversee and design state-of-the-art technology to enhance manufacturing safety, solve production issues through innovative technologies, address labor shortages, safety, and meet sales and demand targets, replace and upgrade automated machinery from tech 3.0 to 4.0 and support integration into business processes, and implement and manage Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS) and ensure effective day-to-day operation.

Your Responsibilities
  • Design and implement cutting-edge technology solutions to enhance manufacturing processes and ensure workforce safety
  • Solve production issues through innovative technologies, addressing labor shortages, safety, and meeting sales and demand targets
  • Replace and upgrade automated machinery from tech 3.0 to 4.0 and support integration into business processes
  • Implement and manage Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS) and ensure effective day-to-day operation
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need an Engineering degree with a background in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics, 5 years of relevant functional experience, with a strong focus on automation, machine learning techniques, and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), demonstrated ability to negotiate business systems and solve complex technical challenges, good design approach, curiosity, and a strong learning mindset.

In return for your expertise, we offer a competitive salary ranging from $120,000 to $180,000 per annum, depending on your level of experience and qualifications, plus a range of benefits, including industry-leading paid parental leave, annual bonuses, and access to employee assistance programs.
