Job Description:

  • We are seeking a Welfare Support Specialist to join our team in providing trauma-informed case work support to women and children experiencing homelessness.
  • The successful candidate will provide client-centred support to help clients maintain stable housing, improve wellbeing, and access the services they need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver case management services to support housing stability and promote overall wellbeing.
  • BUILD STRONG PARTNERSHIPS WITH COMMUNITY SERVICE PROVIDERS TO ENSURE CLIENTS RECEIVE A SEAMLESS SUPPORT EXPERIENCE.
  • UPHOLD CLIENT CONFIDENTIALITY AND RIGHTS WHILE DELIVERING SERVICES IN A TRAUMA-INFORMED MANNER.
  • Develop and implement case plans aligned with local guidelines and standards.
  • Maintain accurate client records and meet service targets while ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • SUPERVISE VOLUNTEERS AND STUDENTS ON PLACEMENT TO ENSURE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND SKILL BUILDING.
  • Conduct risk assessments and promote workplace health and safety best practices.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance professional knowledge and skills.

Requirements:

  • TAFE Certificate IV or working towards a tertiary qualification in welfare or related field.
  • Experience supporting vulnerable populations, ideally in a community services setting.
  • Knowledge of homelessness issues and local support services.
  • Strong communication and computer skills, including proficiency in software applications relevant to the role.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve organisational goals.
  • SOUND JUDGMENT IN CRISIS SITUATIONS IS ESSENTIAL.
