Director of Perioperative Services Job Summary
The Director of Perioperative Services is a key leadership role responsible for managing the operational and business direction of Perioperative Services. This position oversees theatre activity growth, operational efficiency, and excellence in patient care, while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and patient-centred care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop high-performing perioperative teams across multiple sites;
- Drive theatre activity growth, operational efficiency, and excellence in patient care;
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and patient-centred care;
- Oversee clinical governance, risk management, quality improvement projects, and accreditation readiness;
- Build strong relationships with surgeons, staff, and key stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Current registration as Registered Nurse with a relevant professional body;
- Postgraduate qualification in perioperative nursing and/or healthcare management;
- Significant leadership experience at a senior or executive level within an acute hospital setting;
- Proven expertise in clinical, financial, risk, and human resource management;
- Strong change management, strategic thinking, and business development skills;
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.
