Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Rehabilitation Specialist to join our team. As a Rehabilitation Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with physical, emotional, or social barriers to returning to community or work.

Your primary responsibility will be to onboard new members into our online platform, conduct individual intake sessions, develop individual plans in line with our accreditation standards, and work with stakeholders to facilitate successful rehabilitation outcomes.

You will also be responsible for evaluating clients' abilities, interests, experience, skills, health, and education, adapting to disabilities acquired through injury later in life, and working alongside other healthcare workers to facilitate access to community and social support.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on people's lives and help them regain control of their recovery journey.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluating clients' abilities, interests, experience, skills, health, and education
  • Assisting individuals to adapt to disabilities acquired through injury later in life
  • Working alongside other healthcare workers to facilitate access to community and social support
  • Developing individual plans in line with our accreditation standards
  • Facilitating live sessions through our online portal

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience with physical and emotional disabilities, including substance abuse, grief, and emotional trauma within a workers compensation scheme
  • Competency with electronic health record systems
  • Experience with underlying health conditions
  • In-depth knowledge of how people function mentally, emotionally, and socially
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a caring nature

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy, Exercise Physiology, Psychology, or Rehabilitation Counselling
  • Full or Provisional registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Psychologist or eligibility for full membership with the Australian Society of Rehabilitation Counsellors (ASORC) or the Rehabilitation Counsellors Association of Australasia (RCAA) as a Rehabilitation Counsellor
