We are seeking a skilled culinary professional to join our kitchen team.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting chefs in preparing and presenting menu items. This will involve working efficiently within cost margins, ensuring stock rotation, and maintaining clean and tidy working areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist chefs in food preparation and presentation
  • Rotate stock with minimal wastage using the first-in-first-out procedure
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of working areas
  • Liaise with the stewarding team to ensure cleanliness and equipment par levels
Additional Duties:
  • Follow instructions to maintain efficient operations
  • Familiarize yourself with other kitchen sections and provide assistance when needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
Customer Service:
  • Ensure customers receive excellent service in a friendly and timely manner
  • Offer assistance to hotel guests and promote employer services
Behaviours and Qualities:
  • Demonstrate flexibility with work hours and days in a 24/7 operation
  • Project a professional image through personal presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Show initiative and a willingness to learn
Training and Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a commercial kitchen
  • Extensive knife handling and cleaning skills
  • Work Health and Safety training (including Fire Evacuation, Manual Handling, and Ethics)
