About the Role
We're looking for a passionate and versatile
Chef / Catering Assistant
to join our dedicated team at Zion Aged Care. In this dual role, you'll combine your culinary skills with hands-on support in the kitchen to deliver nutritious, comforting meals that brighten the lives of our residents.
You'll work in a warm, home-like environment where your contribution is valued and your growth is supported. Whether you're preparing meals, assisting with service, or maintaining a clean and safe kitchen, your work will make a meaningful difference every day.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and present varied, nourishing, and appetizing meals that align with dietary needs and preferences.
Ensure a safe, clean, and efficient kitchen environment, maintaining hygiene and compliance standards.
Assist with meal preparation, plating, and delivery of resident meal services.
Maintain a hygienic and efficient kitchen environment, including dishwashing and cleaning.
Collaborate with chefs, catering staff, and care teams to enhance the dining experience.
Communicate warmly and professionally with residents, families, and colleagues.
Support and contribute to continuous improvement in catering services.
About You
Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) preferred.
Experience in a commercial kitchen, ideally in aged care or large-scale catering.
Strong customer service and teamwork skills.
Knowledge of safe food handling and WHS compliance.
Ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail.
Valid NDIS Worker Screening clearance or Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
