Financial Controller Opportunity in Brisbane

C3Talent is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to drive organisational excellence and oversee the entire finance function. This rare opportunity is perfect for a finance leader looking to make a lasting impact in the vibrant tourism, events and hospitality industry.

The ideal candidate will report directly to the General Manager and play a pivotal role in driving commercial efficiency and establishing the finance team as a valued business partner across the organisation.

About the Role

The Financial Controller will be responsible for leading and developing a high-performing finance team with a strong focus on business partnering. Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering accurate and timely financial reports and budgets, providing insightful analysis to operational leads and the executive leadership team.
  • Overseeing capital and operational expenditure reporting while ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks.
  • Managing compliance and reporting requirements, including annual audit engagements.
  • Maintaining effective cash and funding management processes, including relationships with external banking partners.
  • Developing financial models, analyses, and business cases to support strategic decision-making.

To be considered for this role, you will be an experienced finance leader with a track record of driving positive change and fostering strong business partnerships across organisations. Experience within asset-based industries such as property development, leasing, or events will be highly regarded.

About You

You will bring:

  • A degree in accounting, commerce, or a related field, coupled with a professional accounting qualification (CA or CPA).
  • Demonstrated success in leading and mentoring high-performing teams.
  • Expertise in financial analysis, compliance, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Business Central, D365, or Navision (preferred but not essential).

Your ability to influence stakeholders and provide strategic insights will be key to your success in this role.
