Accounting Specialist Role

We are seeking a skilled professional to fill this pivotal role within our dynamic Business Services team. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative environment, with the flexibility to combine office and home-based working under our agile policy.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in finance operations, with prior experience in management accounting, VAT returns, and client relationship management. They should be proficient in various accounting software packages, including Xero, Quickbooks, and Sage, as well as having advanced Excel skills.

The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing timely and accurate management accounts, producing comprehensive management reporting packs, and reviewing client records to make recommendations for improvements. They will also play a key role in supporting junior team members, fostering a high-performing team through effective leadership and training.

This role requires a vigilant approach to handling sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively in a team and independently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage client relationships to review processes and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Prepare and review management accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Develop comprehensive management reporting packs to empower clients with data-driven insights.
  • Review and prepare VAT returns for various clients across different industries.
  • Support junior team members in their professional development, providing guidance and training as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Certified Accounting Professional (ICA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience in finance operations, management accounting, and client relationship management.
  • Proficiency in Xero, Quickbooks, Sage, and other accounting software packages.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience in creating dashboards and reports.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
