About this role

Gartner's Business Development teams play a crucial part in expanding our global presence. Our Business Development Executives strategically acquire new clients by building trust-based relationships with C-level executives to understand their priorities and identify opportunities for delivering client value through industry expertise.

These teams are driven to build long-term, value-added relationships with clients, deliver exceptional client experiences, and grow their book of business over time. While results-oriented, they collaborate effectively with account management teams to hand off business and ensure seamless transitions.

Clients of the Mid-Size Enterprise sales teams have up to $1 billion in annual revenue.

What you will do
  • Seek out and drive new business opportunities with organizations across your territory, from initial outreach to close, targeting Mid-Size Enterprise C-level stakeholders
  • Convert viable prospects into active Gartner clients, owning the full sales conversation and negotiation, through to client transition.
  • Align insight, guidance, and practical tools to bring value to partnerships.
  • Build a pipeline of high-quality opportunities to meet sales metrics and KPIs.
  • Manage complex, high-revenue sales across diverse business environments.
  • Own forecasting and account planning on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis.
Required skills and qualifications
  • 3-5+ years' B2B sales experience (closing)
  • Business development or 'hunting' experience in a selling role highly desired.
  • Selling to and/or influencing C-level executives.
  • Proven track record meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Precise management and forecasting of complex sale processes.
  • Bachelor's degree desired.
