About the Role:

The Government Affairs Officer will play a pivotal role in fostering strategic relationships that support the organisation's mission. As the primary liaison with key stakeholders, you will facilitate clear communication, address inquiries, and promote collaboration across departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Key contact between the organisation, the Minister's Office, and other key stakeholders, ensuring effective and transparent communication.
  • Address departmental inquiries and manage sensitive issues - public complaints, with professionalism and tact.
  • Conduct thorough research and prepare keynotes for high-profile events, ensuring stakeholders are well-informed.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to cultivate responsive and cohesive relationships.

Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Department Liaison Officer or similar government role, with a strong understanding of governmental processes.
  • Proven ability to build and influence relationships.
  • Expertise in drafting keynotes and coupled with solid research skills that enhance communication effectiveness.
  • Bring a positive, proactive attitude to tasks, maintaining a hands-on approach and a keen eye for detail.
  • Confident in managing complex, high-stakes issues with a solution-focused approach.
