About the Role

The NSW Ombudsman's Office is seeking a skilled Procurement Business Partner to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for leading and facilitating the end-to-end procurement processes, ensuring the principles of value for money, transparency, and accountability are maintained across all procurement and contract activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and facilitate the end-to-end procurement processes, including contract management and risk mitigation.
  • Implement strategies to align with changing business requirements, adopting best practice procurement processes to manage and mitigate risk.
  • Execute contracts, focusing on strategic resourcing, agreeing comprehensive contractual terms and conditions, and acting as the contracts subject matter expert for the NSW Ombudsman.
  • Partner with staff from across the organisation to provide high-level advice and guidance on procurement, governance, and process improvement.
  • Report on all procurement-related activities, including external and internal reporting, spend analysis, PO commitments, and contract KPIs.
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, contract management, risk, or legal, or 5+ years' experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge, experience, and understanding of NSW Government Procurement processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading the development and management of contracts and procurement practices, ensuring compliance with probity processes.
  • Proven ability in managing risk and effectively managing the end-to-end procure-to-pay process in a government or complex organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage the procurement lifecycle from planning to completion, achieving business objectives, and influencing others with sound argument.
