Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to fill the role of Collections Engagement Officer. This is a part-time, permanent position that will provide an opportunity to work in a dynamic and diverse environment.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain physical and digital resources to meet the needs of our community.
  • Design and deliver activities that promote reading, learning, and discovery.
  • Build and maintain a vibrant, relevant, and diverse collection that reflects community needs and borrowing trends.
  • Provide professional front-of-house service across our organization, creating a welcoming experience for visitors.

Requirements
  • Qualifications and/or relevant experience in a library, museum, education, cultural or customer service setting.
  • Experience in collections development, preferably in the context of public libraries.
  • Experience in developing and delivering public programs.
  • Experience in developing and delivering reader advisory and literacy development activities in relation to the collection.
  • Demonstrated high level of administration skills with an eye for detail.
  • A high level of customer service skills and experience in a busy and varied customer service environment with a focus on cultural sensitivity and meeting the needs of clients from a wide variety of backgrounds.
  • Commitment and ability to work effectively in a team-based environment as well as the ability to work independently.
