Job Title: Collections Engagement Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Collections Engagement Officer. This is a part-time, permanent role that requires the candidate to work 30 hours per week with flexible working options available.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Program Development and Delivery
    • Designs and delivers activities that provide the community with ways to connect with the collection and promotes reading, learning, and discovery.
  • Collection Development and Acquisitions
    • BUILDs and maintains a vibrant, relevant, and diverse collection that reflects community needs and borrowing trends.
  • Customer Service
    • Provides professional front-of-house service across Hyphen, creating a welcoming experience for visitors.
  • Community Engagement
    • Promotes collections through displays, marketing, and reader advisory, connecting resources to programs and literacy development.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering public programs, developing and delivering reader advisory and literacy development activities in relation to the collection, and providing high-level customer service skills and experience in a busy and varied customer service environment.

Requirements:
  • Qualifications and/or relevant experience in a library, museum, education, cultural, or customer service setting.
  • Experience in collections development, preferably in the context of Public Libraries.
  • Experience in developing and delivering public programs.
  • Experience in developing and delivering reader advisory and literacy development activities in relation to the collection.
  • Demonstrated high level of administration skills with an eye for detail.
  • A high level of customer service skills and experience in a busy and varied customer service environment.
