This is a part-time, permanent role that involves connecting people with stories, learning, and community. As a Community Engagement Specialist, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and promoting physical and digital resources. This includes creating engaging programs and activities that connect the community with the collection, supporting seamless circulation services, and delivering professional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Development and Delivery: Design and deliver activities that provide the community with ways to connect with the collection and promote reading, learning, and discovery.
- Collection Development and Acquisitions: Build and maintain a vibrant, relevant, and diverse collection that reflects community needs and borrowing trends.
- Customer Service: Provide professional front-of-house service across all venues, creating a welcoming experience for visitors.
- Community Engagement: Promote collections through displays, marketing, and reader advisory, connecting resources to programs and literacy development.
What the Ideal Candidate Will Bring:
The ideal candidate will have qualifications and/or experience in a library, museum, education, cultural, or customer service setting. They should also have knowledge of collection management and the role of libraries in community literacy.
