The Operational Risk Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the bank's operational risk and resilience management activities are effectively overseen and challenged.
- Policies and Standards: Develop, maintain, and oversee policies and standards designed to mitigate business disruption and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Business Resilience Plans: Ensure robust business resilience plans are in place to sustain critical operations and services during crises.
- Operational Risk Reviews: Conduct targeted operational risk reviews across the business and oversee controls to support alignment with strategy, business outcomes, and compliance with APRA Prudential Standards.
- Oversight and Assurance: Provide oversight of control design and implementation, recurring risks and controls review, and resilience assurance and support for APRA notification/consultation.
- Second Line Challenge: Provide second-line challenge and oversight against operational risks and governance frameworks.
- Risk Analysis and Reporting: Analyze risk profiles, incident and issue data, assess key risk indicators, and prepare insights for fact-based reporting on operational risk performance and activity across the bank.
- Experience: At least six years of financial services operational risk and resilience management experience.
- Risk Management: Experience in identifying, assessing, and mitigating various types of risks at a group-wide level, including operational resilience, business continuity planning, crisis management, or related fields within the financial services industry.
- Stakeholder Management: Managing and influencing multi-faceted stakeholders (internal and external) to meet competing priorities, different needs, and non-aligned expectations.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices in operational risk and resilience management.
- Defence Roles: Demonstrated experience working in second line of defence roles.
- Achieve alignment with strategy, business outcomes, and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the development of robust business resilience plans.
- Analyze risk profiles and provide insights for fact-based reporting.
