We are seeking a skilled database professional to join our team. Our ideal candidate will have hands-on experience administering Microsoft SQL Server databases, including versions 2008, 2014, and 2017.

Job Description:

This is a challenging opportunity focused on supporting business-as-usual (BAU) database operations, with the flexibility to contribute to project-based cloud migration and uplift initiatives during quieter BAU periods.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and support a mix of legacy and modern database environments, including:
    • On-prem SQL Server (2008/2014) and Oracle databases.
    • SQL and Oracle Cloud platforms.
  • Perform routine patching, performance tuning, job scheduling, backups, and data integrity checks.
  • Utilize backup and recovery tools like Rubrik and Commvault.
  • Contribute to on-prem to Azure SQL Managed Instance migration projects.
  • Assist in the uplift of newly adopted Oracle Retail systems.
  • Participate in discovery, planning, and execution of database migrations and uplift projects.
Qualifications Required:
  • 5+ years of experience administering Microsoft SQL Server databases, including versions 2008, 2014, and 2017.
  • Strong expertise in SQL Server to Azure Managed Instance migration, including SSIS, SQL Agent Jobs, and CDC.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Azure cloud services, particularly SQL Managed Instances and database migration tools.
  • Solid understanding of Oracle databases (on-premise and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure).
  • Experience supporting Oracle Retail environments or other retail domain systems is highly desirable.
  • Scripting experience in SQL, PowerShell, Bash, or similar.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
