A local council in the south-west is seeking a motivated and organised HR Project Officer to join our team on a 3-month contract. This role provides a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience across recruitment, onboarding, and HR administration within a local government setting.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers, manage calendars, and ensure timely communication.
- Act as a point of contact for candidates, sending confirmations, follow-ups, and feedback.
- Post job openings on internal and external platforms, ensuring job descriptions are accurate and up to date.
- Initiate and track background checks, ensuring compliance with council policies.
- Draft and send offer letters, coordinate approvals and documentation, assist with onboarding logistics, and ensure new hires have access to necessary systems and resources.
- Provide high-level admin support, manage calendars, schedule meetings, prepare recruitment-related documents and reports, and assist with expense tracking and invoice processing.
- Experience in HR administration or recruitment support, preferably within local government.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive candidate-focused approach.
- Proficiency with HR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and support a busy Talent Acquisition team.
- Contribute to meaningful HR projects that make a difference in your local community.
- Work in a collaborative and supportive council environment.
- Gain exposure to a broad range of HR and recruitment activities.
