Mental Health Professional Development Opportunities
1 week ago
Dynamic mental health careers are available in a supportive environment where multidisciplinary teams work collaboratively to deliver comprehensive care. Opportunities exist for professionals seeking to build skills and confidence in the sector through a 12-month professional development program, which includes orientation, supervision and support.
A key objective of this program is to foster the growth of public mental health clinical and psychosocial practice, with a focus on supporting participants to develop successful careers.
Eligible applicants must have completed their academic course in 2025 and be looking to gain experience in the mental health sector. This may include social workers, occupational therapists and psychologists who are passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of individuals experiencing mental illness.
The program offers flexible working arrangements, access to endorsed supervisors, salary packaging and incremental wage increases. It also provides opportunities for movement and career progression within SA Health, depending on business needs.
The positions available vary across metropolitan and regional South Australia, with participants able to work in different consumer groups and multidisciplinary team environments.
To be eligible for these positions, applicants must meet specific requirements such as holding an appropriate degree or equivalent qualification. For example, social workers must hold a degree that gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
Benefits of working at SA Health include access to experienced clinicians, leave entitlements and flexible working arrangements. Participants will also have the opportunity to work collaboratively across a multi-disciplinary team and contribute to delivering high-quality care.
The application closing date is 26 September 2025, and applicants can discuss flexible working arrangements for this role. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants are encouraged to apply.
