Eldercare seeks a skilled Spiritual Care Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team.

Job Description

This role embodies our commitment to holistic care, recognizing that spiritual wellbeing is essential to overall health and quality of life. As a Spiritual Care Specialist, you will deliver compassionate, person-centred spiritual support to residents and their families across our sites.

You will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to foster meaningful connections and promote autonomy, dignity, and emotional wellbeing for each resident. With sensitivity and insight, you'll provide inclusive spiritual care that honours the diverse beliefs, cultures, and traditions of our community.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing spiritual support and guidance to residents and their families
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans
  • Fostering a sense of community and connection among residents
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Bachelor degree in Theology, Counselling, Social Sciences or equivalent at a tertiary level
  • Clinical Pastoral Education or the equivalent reflective practice training (according to current industry standards)
  • Awareness and understanding of diverse cultures, beliefs, practices and traditions
  • Capability in leading public and informal rituals and services
  • Driver's License and a willingness to travel to various Eldercare Sites
  • Knowledge of the process of ageing and dementia awareness
  • Understanding of issues and spiritual needs surrounding grief and loss
