Product Support Specialist

At Engineering Personnel, we are seeking a highly skilled Product Support Specialist to join our team. As a Product Support Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining electronic components, circuits, and systems used for battery and portable power solution systems, communication systems, and other industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design electronic components, circuits, and systems for portable power systems, including battery management, CAN Bus, and MCU coding.
  • Develop embedded software for these systems.
  • Create testing apparatus and procedures for electronic components.
  • Supervise installation and commissioning of computer, communication, and control systems, ensuring proper control and protection.
  • Establish and monitor performance and safety standards for system operation, modification, maintenance, and repair.
  • Design communication systems using wired, optical fiber, and wireless media.
  • Analyze communication traffic to determine installation requirements for battery and DC power systems.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams to design, develop, and test electrical and electronic equipment.
  • Understand and apply primary and rechargeable battery technologies.
  • Design, troubleshoot, and repair DC distribution and power systems.
  • Design battery cells and packs for optimal assembly and develop manufacturing schematics.
  • Upgrade product designs to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Build and test prototypes, presenting findings to management and customers.
  • Optimize designs for manufacturing with the production team.
  • Assist with production and drafting for new product rollouts.
  • Conduct concept designs and feasibility studies for new applications.
  • Perform R&D and testing of new battery, charger, and DC power products.
  • Provide lab inspection reports on repairs and returned products.
  • Conduct repair work, warranty analysis, and fault reporting.
  • Analyze battery and device integration for power, charge, and communication.
  • Direct research and development to improve electronic systems; manage equipment installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Develop test standards, operating instructions, and test instruments.
  • Review test data, report results, and recommend actions.
  • Discuss proposals with clients and design new systems or enhance existing technology.
  • Test theoretical designs, summarizing data for customers and internal R&D.
  • Write datasheets, user manuals, and performance specifications.
  • Follow development processes to ensure product reliability and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Consult with researchers on electronic instrument needs and objectives.
  • Stay updated on technological and regulatory developments, ensuring adherence to ISO9001:2015 QMS.
  • Perform additional engineering-related tasks as required.
Essential Criteria:
  • Bachelor's degree or Higher in Electronics Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in designing and developing electronic components, circuits, and systems; including repair, troubleshooting, drawing, and technical support.
  • Strong proficiency in battery management systems, CAN Bus, and MCU coding.
  • Experience with embedded software development.
  • Strong understanding of primary and rechargeable battery technologies.
  • Ability to design, develop, and test electronic equipment.
  • Ability to work independently with production teams to optimize designs for manufacturing.
  • Experience in writing technical documents such as datasheets, user manuals, and performance specifications.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and standards.
  • Familiarity with ISO9001:2015 QMS system.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
