Senior Policy Officer

The Department of Education is seeking a Senior Policy Officer to lead improvement strategies and provide high-level strategic advice on regulatory requirements in the early childhood education sector.
This role is part of the Early Childhood Education Quality Assurance and Regulatory Services (QARS) directorate, which regulates and supports over 6000 services across NSW.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement policy strategies to ensure regulatory requirements are embedded into early childhood education sector policy and practice.
- Provide high-level strategic advice on a range of issues to support best practice regulation of NSW early childhood education and care services.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of policy and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
- A valid Working with Children Check clearance for paid employment.
- Experience in state or federal government policy development.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, such as Law, Early Childhood Teaching, and/or Communications.
This role is suited to candidates with relevant qualifications and previous experience in a human service delivery agency, where they were responsible for managing projects that contributed to uplifting standards, quality or safety across the client or service provider population.
