Job Description

Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking is seeking a Graduate Trainee to join our Debt Capital Markets team in Sydney, Australia. As a Graduate Trainee, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in all stages of a capital markets transaction and play an active role in a client-facing team.

The Debt Capital Markets team is responsible for addressing borrowers' needs in terms of raising and managing capital in the debt capital markets. Our client base includes corporate borrowers, financial institutions, the public sector, and sovereigns globally.

As a Graduate Trainee, you will be responsible for:

  • Building and managing strong client relationships with target issuers in Australia and New Zealand
  • Identifying capital market trends and addressing clients' needs in terms of raising and managing capital in the debt capital markets
  • Providing best-in-class advisory to the client base
  • Representing the Debt Capital Markets team in internal dialogues

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Generating pitch material to address clients' needs
  • Leading the preparation of marketing documents
  • Monitoring primary market developments
  • Preparing capital markets data updates
  • Assisting in the end-to-end execution of transactions

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • University degree in a relevant discipline (Law, Commerce, Finance, Accounting or Engineering)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to articulate complex concepts in written and verbal format
