About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Video Lead to join our Digital team at SBS Australia. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the editorial and strategic leadership of digital video content for NITV social platforms.

Key responsibilities include commissioning and overseeing all video content produced within the digital team, upholding editorial standards and style. You will also contribute to the planning and execution of social video content for major network events, productions, and digital-first projects.

Deliver content against corporate strategy and make data-driven editorial decisions, which includes regular data analysis and performance reporting, in concert with the SBS Charter.

You will be responsible for overseeing the equipment and software used by the digital team to shoot and edit video content.

About You

We are looking for someone with a minimum of 2 years' experience creating video for social media and/or web, preferably in a news context. You will have excellent journalistic and storytelling skills, knowledge of Indigenous affairs, and sound editorial judgment.

You will be able to pitch original ideas and identify stories that will make engaging and on-charter video content. Experience producing video and graphics using the Adobe suite (Adobe Premiere Pro) and Canva is essential.

Skills in graphic design and animation are desired. You will have an excellent eye for detail and be able to work to tight deadlines. Good understanding of creative rights management and a good communicator and people manager are also essential.
