Job Opportunity: Research Assistant

As part of our commitment to academic excellence, we are seeking a skilled Research Assistant to support cutting-edge work in minerals processing. This role involves collaborating with industry partners to develop and deploy soft sensors in real-time environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and code mathematical models for the minerals processing industry.
  • Convert experimental excel-based soft sensors to industry-ready programmed solutions using C++ and Python.
  • Support research by performing data analysis tasks.
  • Liaise with clients regarding delivery of soft sensor solutions.
  • Assist senior staff with undertaking routine experiments.
Requirements:
  • Excellent programming skills with a background in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software or Computer Systems Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail with experience in developing machine learning models and performing data analytics using Python packages such as pandas, seaborn, scikit-learn.
