As a Claims Consultant, you will play a crucial role in managing complex medical and loss of income insurance claims. You will be responsible for providing support to individuals who are facing serious illness, injury, or psychological distress.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with vulnerable customers, including those experiencing mental health challenges, financial hardship, or language/cultural barriers. They will possess strong communication skills, empathy, and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage end-to-end complex medical and loss of income claims
  • Ensure accurate claim reserves are set and maintained
  • Resolve complaints and escalations through effective conflict resolution
  • Support customers with mental health challenges, financial hardship, or language/cultural barriers

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience working with mental health, injury, and chronic illness-related claims
  • Strong grasp of loss of income calculations, including offsets, waiting periods, benefit caps, and pre-disability earnings
  • Proficiency working with vulnerable customers
  • Demonstrated skill in complaints handling and de-escalation technique
  • Confidence in liaising with medical professionals, clients, employers, brokers, and other stakeholders
